The Urdu Academy brings out two monthly periodicals titled "Aiwan-e-Urdu" and "Bachchon Ka Mahanama Umang". Publication of these magazines was started in 1987. Articles and items for these magazines are received from noted writers, scholars, poets and illustrators from across the country. The Academy also brings out special numbers to commemorate important occasions or personalities . Both the magazines Umang as well as Aiwan e Urdu are sold at very subsidised rates to make quality literature available to the Urdu readers from all segments of society.. The rates of "Aiwan-e-Urdu " and "Umang" are Rs. 15/- & Rs. 8/- per copy respectively and annual subscription rates are Rs. 150/- & Rs. 80/- respectively.
