Arabic and Urdu calligraphy is a widely appreciated art form that originated with the coping of the Quran in the 7th Century. It is rooted in the knowledge of the Quran and has developed several scripts like Nastaliq, Ruq'ah, etc. It continues to involve further with the development of computer-generated arts. In order to nurture this rich heritage, the Academy runs a two-year course in calligraphy, which is taught by expert calligraphers.
